*Sous Chef – Winter Season 2025/26* Location: The New No.14 Chalet, Verbier, Switzerland Contract: Seasonal, December 2025 – April 2026 Reports to: Head Chef About No.14 Verbier No.14 is one of Verbier's most exclusive luxury chalets, renowned for delivering exceptional service, gourmet cuisine, and unforgettable experiences in the heart of the Swiss Alps. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team for the upcoming winter season. Role Overview As Sous Chef, you will support the Head Chef in delivering a world-class dining experience for our guests. This is a hands-on role that demands creativity, high standards, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment. In addition to fine-dining service, you'll help create memorable theme nights—such as Indian curry evenings, Italian dinners, and cozy, home-style meals—bringing variety, warmth, and personality to the chalet experience. Key Responsibilities • Assist the Head Chef in planning and preparing high-quality, fine-dining menus tailored to guest preferences, including dietary requirements. • Prepare and serve daily meals including breakfast, afternoon tea, canapés, and dinners—including family-style and themed evenings that highlight global cuisines. • Help deliver warm, comforting dinners with a 'home away from home' feel, ensuring guests feel relaxed and cared for. • Ensure impeccable kitchen hygiene, cleanliness, and full compliance with HACCP and food safety regulations. • Manage stock levels, ordering, deliveries, and help minimise waste in collaboration with the Head Chef. • Coordinate with the chalet team to deliver a seamless and personalised guest experience. Requirements • Minimum 2 years' experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie in a fine-dining or luxury hospitality environment. • Recognised culinary qualification or relevant professional training. • Strong knowledge of European and international cuisine. • Confident in catering for a range of dietary needs (e.g., vegetarian, gluten-free, allergies). • Passion for cooking themed and family-style meals that are both creative and comforting. • Organised, clean, and calm under pressure. • Positive attitude, team player, and flexible mindset. • Fluent in English • Must be eligible to work in Switzerland (EU passport or valid Swiss work permit).
